So, it seems obvious that a beaver dam is not actually where the beavers are living. However, this obvious fact has not stopped me from often referring to my home as the Bever Dam (given the pronunciation of my last name) on party invitations or the like. Beavers actually live in lodges with its floor above the water. Jim Gaffigan, my favorite comedian, says, "You know what it's like having five kids? Imagine you're drowning. And someone hands you a baby." While having three kids can sometimes feel like this as well, most days I feel as if I'm making it just above that water line. That still doesn't stop my little Bevers from creating a dam (made up of hijinks, of course) to ensure there's adequate water (and the threat of feeling like we're drowning) surrounding our lodge.
Today is one of those days we're above the water line. AB has yellow day at school today so all the littlest Bevers (made up of AB, EB, and my nephew LB) celebrated yellow day here too. We made yellow dump truck puppets using a dump truck coloring page template and large Popsicle sticks. Crayola dump truck template They were complete with construction stickers and doors that open (using extra paper and packing tape).
